EV Charging Station Installation and Maintenance.
With the ever-increasing demand for electric vehicles comes the need for dramatically more EV charging stations.

Reliable Services
City centres, shopping centres, public parking structures, service stations, hotels and business parks are ideal locations for EV charging stations. We have also found charging stations near restaurants and high street retail spots encourage drivers to dine or shop longer so they can receive more electricity.
Many workplaces, office plazas, and multifamily communities are also adding private charging stations for their employees or tenants to use. After all, this is where people spend the majority of their time. EV drivers want to leave work or their homes with a full charge, so they are looking for locations with charging amenities.
These factors are critical for Local Authorities and property developers who want to make their locations as desirable as possible to investors, large retail companies and potential inner city residents.
What Kind of Charging Station Do I Need?
This will depend on what you can have installed and what your needs are.
- The popular choice is the 7kw charger, which you may see referred to as a Level II. This can be installed at homes or businesses providing charging for most modern EV’s in 4-6 hours.
- There are smaller options available however. The Level I provides a charge at 3.6kw, though this is seen more as a backup or emergency charger needing 8-12 hours to provide a full charge.
- For business premises there are also high capacity chargers available from 22kw. These can reduce charging times, and at higher capacities, can reduce full charge to an hour or less. It should be noted this may not be compatible with all vehicles however.

Installation can be cheaper with Government grants
The Government is keen to encourage the use of electric vehicles nationwide, and so it offers financial assistance to those interested in having charging points installed at both residential and business locations.
You may find the scheme referred to as the OLEV or EVHS grants, but ultimately they are the same scheme.
As long as you have an electric vehicle owned or leased you can apply for a grant of 75% (up to £350) per charging point (capped at 40 charging points).
Note that the grants can change in value or eligibility as the Government assesses the need or popularity so for more information on how to apply for the grant you should review the Governments Customer Guidance document.
